A special book signing for The Silver Heart took place at the All American Quarter Horse Congress, hosted at the Montana Silversmiths booth. The timing couldn’t have been better, renowned trainer Pete Oen was in Columbus for the show, making the event even more memorable. It was a perfect blend of horses, heart, and celebration for a story that honors both the Quarter Horse world and the people who bring it to life.

Missy and Trooper were real horses with a special story. Shesa A Two Timin Date, a sorrel mare we purchased, became the cornerstone of this tale. We bred her to a striking black Quarter Horse, and the result was Trooper, officially named Rowdy's Rappn Bar—her remarkable colt.

Montana Silversmiths has been part of Samantha Sheridan’s journey since the days when she and her daughter Jaime first began showing their Quarter Horses. Over the years, Samantha has collected many of their beautiful pieces — most recently adding a new silver belt buckle to her treasured collection.

When The Silver Heart was written, Montana Silversmiths partnered with Samantha to create something truly special — a custom silver heart necklace designed exclusively for the story. In the novel, Mike gifts the necklace to Sue, and she wears it throughout the book as a symbol of love, strength, and connection.

The collaboration between Montana Silversmiths and The Silver Heart perfectly captures the timeless beauty and meaning behind both the jewelry and the story itself.

“Long Slow Night” was written and performed by Lee Gibson, whose soulful voice sets the perfect tone for one of the most heartfelt scenes in The Silver Heart.
